A Healthy Future
Public Health AmeriCorps

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Public Health AmeriCorps was a joint initiative by AmeriCorps and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to build the next generation of public health leaders. New York's Public Health AmeriCorps program was the largest in the nation, and it addressed public health needs by providing service in public health settings, advancing health outcomes for underserved communities, and creating pathways to healthcare careers through experience and training. The Public Health AmeriCorps initiative is currently "sunsetting," but its impact endures, and AmeriCorps programs will continue to provide health care services in New York State.
